FAQ

How do you prevent baggy knees in pants?
Cashmere is a fantastic material which adapts to the human body, including the shape of the knees. We have done everything we could to ensure that the trousers stretch out as little as possible and spring back into shape after washing. We even performed a rain dance around the professionals with over 10 years of experience in cashmere production, chanting the following: "Prevent our trousers from stretching out at the knees." In response, they smiled and said: "There is no softer raw material in the world than cashmere. It was and will always be stretched out around the knees. But isn’t this softness the reason why you love cashmere?" We nod as we have chosen the most delicate pure cashmere out there.

Can your hats and gloves survive the Russian winter?
Yes! PêcheandBeige trousers and sweaters can be worn all year round. The better the cashmere, the more carefully it retains heat. Due to fineness of the fibres, the material remains light but still protects against both winter blizzards and summer sea breezes at the same time. By the way, cashmere is at least five times warmer than wool, lasts much longer, and is not itchy at all.

Why is cashmere considered a unique material? There are lots of cashmere garments at stores.
In order to save money, mass-market brands often use low-quality fibres. Therefore, only natural fine cashmere which is not blended with any other fabrics can be called unique. Imagine that a Mongolian goat produces no more than 200 grams of cashmere fibres per year. For instance, making a scarf takes at least 250 grams. So it turns out, that a scarf is the equivalent of a full-year mountain goat’s life cycle. Cashmere fibres are no thicker than 14 microns, which is why products made from this yarn are so light. For comparison: one wool sweater weighs about 500 grams whilts a cashmere one — about 130 grams.
Cashmere is derived from Indian Kashmir. Is cashmere produced in India?
Cashmere was indeed named after the region located between Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan. Himalayan goats have been bred in Kashmir for centuries. But the first cashmere manufacturers were the Scots. In 1870, they patented a method for combing goat undercoat, which still remains the most advanced one.

Why don’t you sell two-piece sets (sweaters and trousers)?
We did not set the goal of selling matching monochromatic outfits. In fact, we were inspired by the 1990s aesthetics. Think about actresses wearing jeans paired with cashmere knitted polo shirts or supermodels in sheer dresses and cashmere sweaters draped over their shoulders. We love high-quality cashmere because it adorns a casual look and makes an office outfit less boring. But we do take care of those who prefer to buy monochromatic sets as well. It is easy to pick out hoodies, polo sweaters, trousers, and accessories in a single shade of color.

How often should I wash cashmere?
We recommend washing the garment right after purchase, which makes it even more delicate and soft. And once it becomes one of your favorites, wash it as you please, since high-quality fabrics withstands wear & tear and colors don’t fade after washing.
